TIAA/CREF VAs at MFO
6-letter Qxxxxx tickers are recognized at Yahoo Finance, StockCharts (some - R2 classes of Stock, Growth; T-REA; 04/2015- ), M* (old, but not new). Q-tickers for only the CREF VA R3 class (true with lowest ERs) are mentioned below. The tickers for other CREF VA classes differ only in the 5th place - R1 has "R" (true with the highest ER), R2 has "P" (true with middle ER), R3 has "I" (true with the lowest ER). So, the CREF Stock VA is R1-QCSTRX, R2-QCSTPX, R3-QCSTIX. There is also a newest R4 class for plans that may charge plan-level fees - it isn't widely available (CREF Stock VA R4-QCSTFX, note "F" in the 5th place; one exception is the CREF Social Choice VA R4-QSCCFX instead if the expected QCSCFX).
They are followed by the MFO internal tickers IF-xxxx - probably from the Lipper database.
The MFO internal tickers wrongly name the CREF VA classes. They call the oldest class with the highest ER as R3 (it is true R1), and the newer class with the lowest ER as R1 (it is true R3). This mislabeling carries into MFO Quotes, Charts, Portfolios/Watchlists. Notably, R2 naming is correct. MFO doesn't (yet) recognize the Q-tickers.
MFO MultiSearch (Asset Universe - Insurance Funds/Name - TIAA or CREF but not both) finds only the oldest classes that MFO calls R3 (but are true R1). It also finds regular mutual funds/OEFs offered by the insurance firms.
In the following, the MFO tickers are mentioned from the highest ER to the lowest ER. They are all preceded by "IF-" for "Insurance Fund-" (IF-xxxx). Also, the MFO tickers have no decipherable system and seem to be arbitrarily assigned characters. MFO Discussions and MFP Home/Commentary pages don't recognize the internal IF-tickers (it seems that MFO Home/Commentary, MFO Discussions and MFO Premium are housed in different servers with little cross referencing).
CREF Bond Market R3 QCBMIX; MFO IF-MTJQ / IF-CMQ9 / IF-CMR2
CREF Equity Index R3 QCEQIX; MFO IF-MDMF / IF-CMQ7 / CMQ8; there is also a lone ticker IF-BZKF without ER, but just seems IF-MDMF.
CREF Global Equity R3 QCGLIX; MFO IF-SKRL / IF-CMQ5 / IF-CMQ6
CREF Growth R3 QCGRIX; MFO IF-FDWD / IF-CMQ3 / IF-CMQ4
CREF ILB R3 QCILIX; MFO IF-WPZK / IF-CMP9 / IF-CMQ2
CREF Social Choice R3 QCSCIX; MFO IF-THMV / IF-CMP3 / IF-CMP4
CREF Stock R3 QCSTIX; MFO IF-CBMF / IF-CMP5 / IF-CMP6
CREF M-Mkt R3 QCMMIX; MFO IF-RWDV / IF-CMP7 / IF-CMP8
TIAA Real Estate Account (T-REA) QREARX; MFO IF-SMZQ
